Working with Founders Taught Me More Than Any MBA

I've spent 4 years working directly with founders at NJ Group, Finvestfx, and now Sonic Linker. Each one taught me something different about how products actually work.

At NJ Group, I learned that product adoption is often a people problem, not a tech problem. When insurance penetration was low among our IFA network, the fix wasn't a better product. It was better training. Diagnosing the root cause matters more than shipping features.

At Finvestfx, I learned enterprise product thinking. When you have 20+ enterprise clients, every feature request feels urgent. The skill is in building a prioritization framework (we used revenue impact times churn risk) that lets you say no with data.

At Sonic Linker, I'm learning 0-to-1. There's no playbook, no existing user base to learn from, no revenue to protect. Every decision is a bet, and speed of learning is the only real advantage.

The common thread across all of it: start with the problem, not the solution. Sounds obvious. Surprisingly rare in practice.
